What Would I Do Without This Piece of Technology?

How many gadgets do I have now? Let's see, there's my ipod, cell phone, garmin, laptop, DVR. I am going to drop the garmin for this discussion because I rarely use it as it is. Therefore, I would say that the laptop is the single most important piece of technology in my life right now and the one I would give up last.

It is amazing how not that many years ago when I didn't have many of these gadgets that I do today, I didn't think twice about them. But I suppose that is one effect of technology: until you have it, you never need it. But now there are a few things I would be hard-pressed to go back on. My cell phone is one of them, although I have been thinking about doing away with it and just getting a house phone. TV I could do without, but unfortuately it is cheaper to get internet access with cable and in some cases you have to sign up for TV to get internet access.

So, what changes would occur without the internet/laptop, the most important piece of technology in my life? My communication with friends and family would go way down--no email, no social media. I wouldn't be caught up in world events like I am now.

But I think I would get used to it. Sure, I would miss it, but eventually, it wouldn't matter anymore.
